Anti-Cripto-1 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene TDGF1, or 'teratocarcinoma-derived growth factor 1' in humans. The 188-amino acid protein is a member of the EGF-CFC (Cripto-1/FRL1/Cryptic) family. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated and secreted. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
