Anti-PUF60 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein poly(U) binding splicing factor 60. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 559 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the RRM half pint protein family, PUF60 is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway. The PUF60 gene has been associated with the disease, Verheij syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include RoBPI, SIAHBP1, VRJS, poly(U)-binding-splicing factor PUF60, FBP interacting repressor, and FIR. PUF60 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PUF60 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
