Anti-GAL3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the GAL3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LGALS3 gene, which encodes galectin 3. This protein is known to function in epithelial cell differentiation and innate immune responses, among other biological roles. The human version of GAL3 has a canonical amino acid length of 250 residues and a protein mass of 26.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CBP35 and CBP35. Some GAL3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
