Anti-TPRN antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein taperin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 711 amino acid residues and a mass of 75.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Taperin protein family. The TPRN gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. TPRN gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of TPRN antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
