Anti-HSD3B2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 372 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and ER. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in adrenal gland, testis and ovary. A member of the 3-beta-HSD protein family, HSD3B2 is known to be involved with brain development. Synonyms for this target antigen include HSDB, SDR11E2, 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/Delta 5-->4-isomerase type 2, 3 beta-HSD type II, and HSD3B. Over 60 citations in the literature describe the use of Hsd3b2 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
