Anti-THIO antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target THIO is a known alias name of the protein acetyl-CoA acyltransferase 1, encoded by the ACAA1 gene in humans. This 424-amino acid residue protein is known to be important for the thiolytic cleavage of straight chain 3-keto fatty acyl-CoAs (3-oxoacyl-CoAs). It is localized to the peroxisomes of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus and cerebellum. Other synonyms for THIO include ACAA, Lnc-Myd88, and PTHIO. Western Blot is a widely used application for the THIO antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
