Anti-CSPG2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CSPG2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the VCAN gene, which encodes versican. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and glial cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of CSPG2 has a canonical amino acid length of 3396 residues and a protein mass of 372.8 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and cerebellum. This target antigen may also be known as ERVR. Some CSPG2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
