Anti-PHGPx antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PHGPx antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the GPX4 gene, which encodes glutathione peroxidase 4. This protein is known to function in pathways of aging and chromatin organization, among other biological roles. The human version of PHGPx has a canonical amino acid length of 197 residues and a protein mass of 22.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the skin and testis. Other names for this target antigen include GSHPx-4 and MCSP. Western Blot is the most common application for the PHGPx antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
