Anti-HXK1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HXK1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HK1 gene, which encodes hexokinase 1. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and inflammatory response pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of HXK1 has a canonical amino acid length of 917 residues and a protein mass of 102.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include HK, HK1-ta, and HK1-tb. Some HXK1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
