Anti-PSMC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein proteasome 26S subunit, ATPase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 439 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. A member of a the AAA ATPase protein family, PSMC3 is a known component of the 26S proteasome, a multiprotein complex involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. Post-translational modifications have been described, including sumoylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include RPT5, 26S proteasome regulatory subunit 6A, 26S protease regulatory subunit 6A, and DCIDP.
