Anti-ASB13 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 13. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 278 amino acid residues and a mass of 30 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Ankyrin SOCS box (ASB) protein family, ASB13 is believed to be a substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include ankyrin repeat and SOCS box protein 13 and ankyrin repeat domain-containing SOCS box protein Asb-13. ASB13 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the ASB13 antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
