Anti-MDH antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MDH is a known alias name of the protein malate dehydrogenase 2, encoded by the MDH2 gene in humans. This 338-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in metabolic processes, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell and features acetylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for MDH include DEE51, EIEE51, and M-MDH. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for MDH antibodies.
