Anti-HMX1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein H6 family homeobox 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 348 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the HMX homeobox protein family, HMX1 is reported to be a dna-binding protein that binds to the 5'-CAAG-3' core sequence. The HMX1 gene has been associated with the disease, Oculoauricular syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include NKX5-3, homeobox protein HMX1, H6 homeodomain protein, homeobox protein H6, and H6. HMX1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
