"Anti-GAG antibodies are available for research in infectious disease. The HIV gag protein, or ""group-specific antigen"" is a polyprotein that gives rise to the structural proteins: matrix protein (P17 or MA), capsid (CA or p24), SP1, nucleocapsid (NC), SP2 and p6. The HIV gag and pol genes (gag-pol) also overlap, and a ribosomal frameshift is required to translate pol. The gag polyprotein is cleaved by the protease, furin. Note that ""GAG"" may also be an alias symbol for unrelated genes and proteins. Visit the antibody supplier page for further details, including target antigen, tested applications, and more. "
