Anti-BCL2 associated athanogene 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene BAG1 in humans. The gene may also be known as BAG-1, HAP, RAP46, BAG family molecular chaperone regulator 1, and Bcl-2 associating athanogene-1 protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 38.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
