Anti-Centrin 1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CETN1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 172 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the Centrin protein family, it is known to play a fundamental role in microtubule-organizing center structure and function. Other names for this target antigen include CETN, EF-hand protein, calcium binding protein, caltractin, centrin, EF-hand protein, 1, and CEN1.
