Anti-TMEM163 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 163. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 289 amino acid residues and a mass of 31.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the TMEM163 protein family, TMEM163 is believed to bind zinc and other divalent cations and recruit them to vesicular organelles. TMEM163 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMEM163 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunocytochemistry is also a common application.
