Anti-FIG4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein FIG4 phosphoinositide 5-phosphatase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 907 amino acid residues and a mass of 103.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the endosome. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. FIG4 is known to be involved with neuronal development. The FIG4 gene has been associated with the disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 4J. Synonyms for this target antigen include ALS11 and BOP. FIG4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some FIG4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
