Anti-NCEH1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein neutral cholesterol ester hydrolase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 408 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in monocyte-derived macrophages. A member of the GDXG' lipolytic enzyme protein family, it is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids and protein dephosphorylation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include acetylalkylglycerol acetylhydrolase, alkylacetylglycerol acetylhydrolase, arylacetamide deacetylase-like 1, and 2-acetyl MAGE hydrolase.
