Anti-REEP6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein receptor accessory protein 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 211 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles and ER. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in circumvallate papillae and testis. A member of a the DP1 protein family, REEP6 is known to be required for correct function and survival of retinal photoreceptors. Synonyms for this target antigen include deleted in polyposis 1-like 1, polyposis locus protein 1-like 1, and receptor expression-enhancing protein 6.
