Anti-TMEM166 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TMEM166 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EVA1A gene, which encodes eva-1 homolog A, regulator of programmed cell death. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and autophagy pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of TMEM166 has a canonical amino acid length of 152 residues and a protein mass of 17.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER and lysosomes of cells and notably expressed in the testis, liver, and kidney. TMEM166 is a member of the EVA1 protein family.
