Anti-TRAX antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TRAX is a known alias name of the protein translin associated factor X, encoded by the TSNAX gene in humans. This 290-amino acid residue protein is known to act in combination with TSN as an endonuclease involved in the activation of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). It is localized to the nucleus, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell and features sumoylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the breast, thyroid gland, and adrenal gland. Other synonyms for TRAX include C3PO and translin-associated protein X.
