Anti-SODD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SODD is a known alias name of the protein BAG cochaperone 4, encoded by the BAG4 gene in humans. This 457-amino acid residue protein is reported to inhibit the chaperone activity of HSP70/HSC70 by promoting substrate release (By similarity). It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The term BAG family molecular chaperone regulator 4 is another synonym for SODD.
