Anti-SAMD11 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein sterile alpha motif domain containing 11. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 681 amino acid residues and a mass of 72.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. SAMD11 is believed to play a role in photoreceptor development. Synonyms for this target antigen include sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 11 and SAM domain-containing protein 11. SAMD11 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunocytochemistry is the most common application for the Samd11 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
