Anti-Filaggrin 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FLG2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2391 amino acid residues and a mass of 248.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the S100-fused protein family; S-100 family, it is known to be important for normal cell-cell adhesion in the cornified cell layers. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Peeling skin syndrome. Other names for this target antigen include ifapsoriasin, intermediate filament-associated and psoriasis susceptibility protein, and filaggrin family member 2.
