Anti-LCA4 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LCA4 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the AIPL1 gene, which encodes aryl hydrocarbon receptor interacting protein like 1. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of LCA4 has a canonical amino acid length of 384 residues and a protein mass of 43.9 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the retina. This target antigen may also be known as AIPL2.
