Anti-P5CD antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the P5CD antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ALDH4A1 gene, which encodes aldehyde dehydrogenase 4 family member A1. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of P5CD has a canonical amino acid length of 563 residues and a protein mass of 61.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as ALDH4.
