Anti-Interleukin 24 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the IL24 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 206 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.8 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 4 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the IL-10 protein family, it is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway and the cellular response to lipopolysaccharides. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation and ubiquitination. Other names for this target antigen include FISP, IL10B, MDA7, MOB5, ST16, IL-4-induced secreted protein, melanocyte-associated Mda-7, and C49A. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of Interleukin 24 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
