Anti-SAMD12 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein sterile alpha motif domain containing 12. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 201 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.9 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in the brain. The SAMD12 gene has been associated with the disease, Epilepsy. Synonyms for this target antigen include SAM domain-containing protein 12, benign adult familial myoclonic epilepsy 1, familial adult myoclonic epilepsy 1, and sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 12. SAMD12 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for SAMD12 antibodies.
