Anti-Filensin antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Filensin antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BFSP1 gene, which encodes beaded filament structural protein 1. This protein is known to be required for the correct formation of lens intermediate filaments as part of a complex composed of BFSP1, BFSP2 and CRYAA. The human version of Filensin has a canonical amino acid length of 665 residues and a protein mass of 74.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the eye. Other names for this target antigen include CP115, CP94, and CTRCT33. Indicated applications for Filensin antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
