Anti-SEC31B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SEC31 homolog B, COPII coat complex component. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1179 amino acid residues and a mass of 128.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane, cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, and cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be widely expressed at low levels with specific expression in thymus and testis. A member of the WD repeat SEC31 protein family, SEC31B is known to be involved with intracellular protein transport. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include SEC31L2, protein transport protein Sec31B, SEC31 homolog B, COPII coating complex component, SEC31-like 2, SEC31-like protein 2, and SEC31B-1. SEC31B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the SEC31B antibodies listed below. In addition, Flow Cytometry is also a common application.
