Anti-HNF4alpha antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The HNF4alpha antigen is another term for the human protein hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha, encoded by the HNF4A gene. The protein is a reported transcriptional regulator which controls the expression of hepatic genes during the transition of endodermal cells to hepatic progenitor cells, facilitating the recruitment of RNA pol II to the promoters of target genes. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 474 residues and a mass of 52.8 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and it is expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and colon. The HNF4alpha protein is a member of the Nuclear hormone receptor protein family.
