Anti-PP2A alpha antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PP2A alpha antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PPP2CA gene, which encodes protein phosphatase 2 catalytic subunit alpha. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and the cell cycle, among other biological roles. The human version of PP2A alpha has a canonical amino acid length of 309 residues and a protein mass of 35.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include NEDLBA, PP2Ac, and PP2CA. Some PP2A alpha antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
