Anti-Osteopontin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Osteopontin is a known alias name of the protein secreted phosphoprotein 1, encoded by the SPP1 gene in humans. This 314-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and inflammatory response pathways, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features O-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in cerebrospinal fluid and urine. Other synonyms for Osteopontin include BNSP, BSPI, and ETA-1.
