Anti-MEI4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein meiotic double-stranded break formation protein 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 385 amino acid residues and a mass of 44 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the chromosomes. A member of the MEI4L protein family, Mei4 is known to be required for DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) formation in unsynapsed regions during meiotic recombination. Synonyms for this target antigen include meiosis-specific 4 homolog, meiosis-specific protein MEI4-like, and meiosis-specific protein MEI4. MEI4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. ELISA is a widely used application for the Mei4 antibodies listed below. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
