Anti-mannan-binding lectin antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The mannan-binding lectin antigen is another term for the human protein mannose binding lectin 2, encoded by the MBL2 gene. The protein is known to be a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 248 residues and a mass of 26.1 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein and it is expressed in the liver. Other alias names for mannan-binding lectin include COLEC1, HSMBPC, and MBL. These mannan-binding lectin antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
