Anti-CEP41 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein centrosomal protein 41. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 373 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the CEP41 protein family, CEP41 is known to be required during ciliogenesis for tubulin glutamylation in cilium. The CEP41 gene has been associated with the disease, Joubert syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include centrosomal protein 41 kDa, centrosomal protein 41kDa, testis specific protein A14, testis specific, 14, testis-specific gene A14 protein, and centrosomal protein of 41 kDa. CEP41 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the CEP41 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
