Anti-DEFB126 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein defensin beta 126. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 111 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.2 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is reported to have high-level and epididymis-specific expression. A member of the Beta-defensin protein family, DEFB126 is known to be involved with innate immune responses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include epididymal secretory protein ESP13.2, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, and beta-defensin 126. DEFB126 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. ELISA is the most common application for the DEFB126 antibodies listed below. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
