Anti-KRT73 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein keratin 73. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 540 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.9 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in hair follicles from scalp. A member of the Intermediate filament protein family, KRT73 is known to have a role in hair formation. Synonyms for this target antigen include cytokeratin-73, keratin 6 irs3, keratin 73, type II, type II inner root sheath-specific keratin-K6irs3, type-II keratin Kb36, and keratin, type II cytoskeletal 73. KRT73 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the KRT73 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
