Anti-ACOT6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein acyl-CoA thioesterase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 421 amino acid residues and a mass of 46.8 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the C/M/P thioester hydrolase protein family, Acot6 is known to catalyze the hydrolysis of acyl-CoAs into free fatty acids and coenzyme A (CoASH), regulating their respective intracellular levels. Synonyms for this target antigen include putative acyl-CoA thioesterase 6, putative acyl-coenzyme A thioesterase 6, and acyl-coenzyme A thioesterase 6. ACOT6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. ELISA is the most common application for the Acot6 antibodies listed below. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
