Anti-CD230 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The CD230 antigen is another term for the human protein prion protein, encoded by the PRNP gene. The protein is known to function in the cell cycle and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 253 residues and a mass of 27.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and cell membrane and it is expressed in the skin, colon, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate.
