Anti-SET8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SET8 is a known alias name of the protein lysine methyltransferase 5A, encoded by the KMT5A gene in humans. This 393-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a protein-lysine n-methyltransferase that monomethylates both histones and non-histone proteins. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features ubiquitinated and acetylated post-translational modifications. Some SET8 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
