Anti-IRG2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IRG2 is a known alias name of the protein interferon induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 3, encoded by the IFIT3 gene in humans. This 490-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in innate immune responses, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for IRG2 include CIG-49, CIG-49, and GARG-49.
