Anti-ESET antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ESET is a known alias name of the protein SET domain bifurcated histone lysine methyltransferase 1, encoded by the SETDB1 gene in humans. This 1291-amino acid residue protein is a known histone methyltransferase that specifically trimethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for ESET include H3-K9-HMTase4 and KG1T. Western Blot is the most common application for the ESET antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
