Anti-HTGL antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HTGL is a known alias name of the protein lipase C, hepatic type, encoded by the LIPC gene in humans. This 499-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the hydrolysis of triglycerides and phospholipids present in circulating plasma lipoproteins, including chylomicrons, intermediate density lipoproteins (IDL), low density lipoproteins (LDL) of large size and high density lipoproteins (HDL), releasing free fatty acids (FFA) and smaller lipoprotein particles. The protein is secreted and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for HTGL include HDLCQ12 and HL. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for HTGL antibodies.
