Anti-NPHP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein nephrocystin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1330 amino acid residues and a mass of 150.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. NPHP3 is reported to be required for normal ciliary development and function. The NPHP3 gene has been associated with the disease, Nephronophthisis. Synonyms for this target antigen include MKS7, NPH3, RHPD, RHPD1, SLSN3, Meckel syndrome, type 7, cilia and flagella associated protein 31, and CFAP31. NPHP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of NPHP3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
