Anti-Myosin heavy chain 6 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MYH6 in humans. The gene may also be known as Alpha-MHC, MYHC, SSS3, myosin, heavy chain 6, cardiac muscle, alpha, myosin-6, and ASD3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 223.7 kilodaltons in mass. The MYH6 marker can be used to identify Cardiomyocytes.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
