Anti-MTIF2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial translational initiation factor 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 727 amino acid residues and a mass of 81.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is reported to be expressed in all tissues examined. A member of the Classic translation factor GTPase protein family, MTIF2 is reported to be one of the essential components for the initiation of protein synthesis. Synonyms for this target antigen include translation initiation factor IF-2, mitochondrial and IF-2mt. MTIF2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MTIF2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
