Anti-WAC antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein WW domain containing adaptor with coiled-coil. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 647 amino acid residues and a mass of 70.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. WAC is known to act as a linker between gene transcription and histone H2B monoubiquitination at 'Lys-120' (H2BK120ub1). Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include DESSH, PRO1741, Wwp4, WW domain-containing adapter protein with coiled-coil, and BM-016. WAC gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some WAC antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
