Anti-BD1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BD1 is a known alias name of the protein defensin beta 1, encoded by the DEFB1 gene in humans. This 68-amino acid residue protein is known to have bactericidal activity. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. The term DEFB101 is another synonym for BD1.
